Lucky 13 Lacquer Accio Lacquer

There is a 99.9% chance that if you read my blog, you've probably been a loyal Accio Lacquer reader for ages. If you aren't, you should be. Because she's awesome. Other topics of awesomeness include the polish that Lucky 13 Lacquer named in her honor - Accio Lacquer. Lucky 13 Lacquer did a whole Harry Potter collection, and of course I ended up with all of them. In fact, I also ended up with a bottle of Accio Lacquer as a gift because Raphaelle at Digital Nails knows that I am a micro-flakie and taupe JUNKIE. Accio Lacquer is literally everything I could want in an all-seasons, super versatile, classy with a in your face flakie POW polish. I swear that made sense. Anyway, I also attempted a half-moon mani with OPI Designer-de-Better as an accent. I will not admit as to how long it took.

This is three beautiful coats of Accio Lacquer with an accent of OPI Designer de Better. It is a mauvey-taupe sort of color with gold and copper microflakies that really make this unique and CLASSY AS ALL GET OUT. Seriously - this is an indie polish that fashionistas and my grandma would wear. Also, my grandma is awesome. Please also note the Pathfinder RPG sheet in the background of this picture. Level 11 monk. Beware.

I obviously had to take pictures in different lighting so you can see how versatile this polish is. I swear - new favorite neutral. The formula was also freaking phenomenal and the dry time was stupid fast. Lucky 13 Lacquer - what have you done to the formula? Imbued it with something magical?

If course, here is a macro shot in order for you to check out my sweet sweet less-dry cuticle action. And of course THE FLAKIES.

If you want this polish, buy it off of the Lucky 13 Lacquer website. Fullsies are $8.50 and shorties are $6. She hand mixes these babies, it's a serious labor of 3-free love. You can also follow her on Facebook to keep on the up and up with sales and new collections.

I also want to mention that on July 29, she will be releasing a limited edition polish called Softening the Bad Things where $1 from each polish will go to NAMI. There are 25 bottles, so there will be a $25 donation coming from Lucky 13 Lacquer. There are some awesome bloggers that will be matching the donations - myself included!

Lucky 13 Lacquer The Hero of Canton, the Man They Call Jayne

ALERT ALERT! My love of glitter toppers on strong linear holographic polishes marches on, all the way to Canton! Which brings me to one of the most awesome glitter toppers I own, and one with one of the longest names I have ever seen on a mini bottle: Lucky 13 Lacquer - The Hero of Canton, the Man They Call Jayne. This polish is a mix of various sizes of matte red, orange, and marigold hex glitters in a clear base - just like Jayne's epic hat that rocked the Firefly Geeksosphere.  I layered one layer of Hero of Canton over Color Club Cosmic Fate. Lucky 13 Lacquer is a 3-free and cruelty free (come on, her boss is her cat!) maker that rocks some great customer service -  she worked with me to get her entire Battle of Serenity collection..... and then some. Anyway - here are some pictures!

Bottle shot! The formula was pretty fantastic on this polish - you can either spread or dab it. I am totally a spreader. It was easy to manipulate and get even coverage on my baby nubbins and Madame Janky Pinkie. One coat gave some great glitter coverage. I was thinking about trying two, but I really wanted the holo to shine through.

Here is an amazing close up shot. Look at all of those awesome little glitters! And that glitter payout! It makes me wonder how many coats to opacity. Unfortunately, cheapie cheap me bought a mini. I'm thinking this is an upgrade-r.

I know I'm automatically biased because I love the show that Hero of Canton was based off of. If you like it and want to own it, check out Lucky 13 Lacquer on her website. Full sizes (15 mL) are $8.50 and shorties (10 mL) are $6. It is also highly recommended that you go like her on Facebook. Seriously, she's got a Harry Potter collection up too.

What nerdiness would you want her to make next?

Nail Art (ish): A Jelly/Holo thing with GLITTER!

Some of you may know that last night I went to a drag show to see the amazing Pandora Boxx. AWESOME. Not only was I out far beyond my bedtime, but I had to go off and see about doing my nails in an exceptional way for an exceptional queen. I decided I would borrow a stamping plate from an amazing lady - but lo and behold I was frustrated with my STUPID CURVY NAILS. (yes, janky pinkie, that includes you). But hey - I had a back up! I used Color Club Over the Moon, Zoya Frida, and Lucky 13 Lacquer Bone Daddy. Actually, now that I think about it.... remember amazing polish addict graduate school student who is amazing and I love her? She sent me Over the Moon during a vicious nail polish battle and she sent me Frida in a gigantic package filled with love and awesome. Bone Daddy was also a gift - it was snuck in there during my massive order of credit card melting doom. ONWARD TO PICTURES!

TUR DUR! I used two coats of Over the Moon (although you could probably get it in one), one coat of Frida (mmmm - teal), and one coat of Bone Daddy.

Holy mother of cheese, it gives the holographic effect DEPTH! I probably could have sandwiched the glitters, but I wanted to make sure that they were black and white (not light teal and dark teal). MMPH! GOODNESS!

Here you can see the holographic pretty well. Bone Daddy at one coat does some phenomenal things. Awesome coverage for a glitter top coat, yeah? AND NO BAR GLITTER! AND NO GIGANTOR GLITTERS! (I'm mildly in love with tiny glitter).

Yeah - pretty.

Still pretty.

So there you have it. Pretty awesome, yeah? And it held up to a night of actin' a fool and being utilized as a toy for the sick sick joy of my dear man-clone that has a fascination with placing me in exceptionally awkward situations or places. Like a bear bar. Or maybe I'm his lady-clone, he was born two weeks before me. MOVING ON NOW. All of these polishes when on in a dream-like wine-induced stupor. Very easily and faster than I imagined. I managed to not smudge anything, which was great. I was tempted to keep using more Bone Daddy because HA HA GLITTER IS AWESOME AND MATTE GLITTER IS THE BEST. But I stopped. Moderation, dear people. Moderation.

I have no idea where you can find the Color Club Halo Hues in real life. They do have a website. Also - Amazon.com has them. Also - some people keep finding them at Meijers? Good for them.  It has also been brought to my attention (thank you, lovely commenter!) that they are available at Enospring.com!

Zoya Frida can be obtained on Amazon as well. HUZZAH AMAZON! Zoya also has them on their website.

Lucky 13 Lacquer Bone Daddy comes from http://www.lucky13lacquer.com/. She also has a FACEBOOK.

Okay. Time to eat lunch. Not even thinking about re-doing my nails today.

Lucky 13 Lacquer Life is Short and You are Hot

I would like to share with you all two things: first, I am watching Happy Gilmore. Second, I'm madly in love with all things jelly. I also have a mild spending problem, and the last time that Kyoti of Lucky 13 Lacquer had a huge sale for moving-times, I got a haul. I think my total accumulation of Lucky 13 Lacquer is somewhere around...... uh...... 18? 20? She also does mad-amazing-pretty custom orders and did a lovely one for me and a friend's birthday (that you will see sometime) called Throbbing Purple. So, TLDR: I hit a sale, got a buncha polish, and Life is Short and You are Hot was one of them. How can I describe this polish? Flaming hot magenta with tiny flamboyant glitters and bright holographic hexes. Really, I should show you the pictures. ARE YOU READY NOW!?!

YUM! Look at that SQUISHY GOODNESS! Pretty effin gorgeous right? I had some difficulty because I am an idiot and left my ceiling fan on while I was applying. And I was subsequently lazy and didn't want to stand up and turn it off. EITHER WAY - for a new glitter-dabber like myself, this lady was pretty damn smooth. Like my legs after I finally remember to shave them after three weeks.

Look at that pretty holo goodness. And how bright! Pretty opaque too, for a jelly. This is three coats.

Lid and close up shot of my thumbs. Seriously, don't my cuticles look pretty fantastic for right now? And this polish is also kind of the bomb too.

And of course, it's not a party unless I get a matte top coat involved. This time I used Digital Nails Matte-matical, available at her Etsy store!

And of course, to truly capture the hot-ness I decided to take a fairly awful video. And oh, janky pinkie, you're really done it today.

So, that's all folks! Life is Short and You are Hot from the Last of the Time Lords collection by Lucky 13 Lacquer. She didn't pay me or provide me with this polish to review, I just really like it and wanted to show everyone how damn sparkly it is. And squishy. I'm going to go back to Season 5 of Doctor Who now.

Also this is the Lucky 13 Lacquer Facebook.
You too can own this squishy delicious goodness. Go here for purchasing.
