Lucky 13 Lacquer Accio Lacquer

There is a 99.9% chance that if you read my blog, you've probably been a loyal Accio Lacquer reader for ages. If you aren't, you should be. Because she's awesome. Other topics of awesomeness include the polish that Lucky 13 Lacquer named in her honor - Accio Lacquer. Lucky 13 Lacquer did a whole Harry Potter collection, and of course I ended up with all of them. In fact, I also ended up with a bottle of Accio Lacquer as a gift because Raphaelle at Digital Nails knows that I am a micro-flakie and taupe JUNKIE. Accio Lacquer is literally everything I could want in an all-seasons, super versatile, classy with a in your face flakie POW polish. I swear that made sense. Anyway, I also attempted a half-moon mani with OPI Designer-de-Better as an accent. I will not admit as to how long it took.

This is three beautiful coats of Accio Lacquer with an accent of OPI Designer de Better. It is a mauvey-taupe sort of color with gold and copper microflakies that really make this unique and CLASSY AS ALL GET OUT. Seriously - this is an indie polish that fashionistas and my grandma would wear. Also, my grandma is awesome. Please also note the Pathfinder RPG sheet in the background of this picture. Level 11 monk. Beware. 

I obviously had to take pictures in different lighting so you can see how versatile this polish is. I swear - new favorite neutral. The formula was also freaking phenomenal and the dry time was stupid fast. Lucky 13 Lacquer - what have you done to the formula? Imbued it with something magical?

Pahlish Mind Like a Diamond

SWEET HEAVENS TO BETSY THEY HAVE ARRIVED! Roll out the red carpet - the Coney Island Queen collection has made its way to my mailbox. Those of you who know me personally know I have an addiction to microglitter and microflakies. Really, if it's got "micro" in the word, I'm  probably down. Anyway, Pahlish makes a ton of polishes that totally float my boat. I fell in love with Mind Like a Diamond at some point, and then I saw the whole collection. Which I needed to own. And I finally bought when there was a free-shipping sale. Seriously, the way to my heart is free shipping. Anyway, Mind Like a Diamond is a warm, taupe-y grey with charcoal microflakes and pink color-shifty-shimmer bits. I know, scientific terminology. 

I mean, look how yummy this is. It's like warm delicious grey taupe super-neutral. I love greys that actually look grey and NOT green on my nails. And this polish DOES it! 

This is three coats of Mind Like a Diamond. It looked opaque at two, but I'm a teensie bit type-a on opacity. Formula wise it was pretty awesome. Not too thin, not too thick. It was pretty self-leveling, but my idiot pinkie nail was just not having it. Top coat fixed the problem. But seriously looking at it - this polish is a grey perfection. I was worried it was dupable with Dandy Nails Bound to Fall , but the good news is that while they are similar, they are totally different. I'll now probably try to do some stupid subtle taping or gradient.

Here is a macro shot. It really shows the sparkle this polish has. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and re-did my nails without matte polishing this mani first. I regret it immensely. I will probably need to go read some Sylvia Plath.

Dandy Nails Bound to Fall

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to present to you a lovely birthday gift from a fantastic lady and friend of mine - Dandy Nails Bound to Fall. She discovered that I had yet to try one of these gorgeous, fantastic, glorious polishes, and I had been drooling over Bound to Fall since my grey obsession a few months ago. Here is why I drooled over it: it's a medium grey that looks like granite or some sort of other stone because of the flakies inside and there are iridescent flakies as well and they actually show through and I can SEE THEM. So when she told me she got me that for a present, I was thrilled!

This is three coats of Bound to Fall on top of OPI Nail Envy Matte with a layer of Poshe as a top coat. Is this not GORGEOUS?! The formula wasn't anything to ignore either - no bubbles, lumpiness, and went on smoothly with no hiccups. At the time of these pictures, I'd like to mention I had been wearing it for about two days and I had minimal tip wear - which is pretty impressive. 

Here is a close up. I love how this looks like actually rocks. You see a hint of the iridescent flakies on my middle finger. 

If you get a good flash and shift the fingers, the flakies really liked to pop out. They were gorgeous and subtle  - I'd keep this in my neutral with flair arsenal. 

Not really too picture heavy today, I'm totally exhausted. I have grand plans to matte this baby in the future. Either way - I highly recommend this polish and I plan to add more Dandy Nails to my collection in the future.

Scofflaw Love Letter to Kurt Vonnegut

I'd like to start this post by asking my lovely readers to keep my grandmother in your thoughts. On Monday, she had a major stroke and due to her age (almost 94) and as per her request, we will not be seeking any life sustaining procedures. I don't want to be all "blah sads blah" but I did want to inform you all that is why I hadn't posted for a few days. I'm very thankful that she has been so amazing and is a huge fan of my polish habit. I know she would have loved the polish I am about to show you all today. Okay - TMI over. 

DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED THIS AS A GIFT FROM AN AMAZING PERSON! She was awesome and got it for me because I was in the hospital due to a car accident during the restock and I knew it would be the last time it was available. Oh. Spoiler alert. This was a LE. Sorry. Anyway - today I bring to you Scofflaw Nail Varnish Love Letter to Kurt Vonnegut. I put this baby on SUNDAY night. That's right - it is currently WEDNESDAY night. I have maybe a little bit of tip wear. Maybe. Anyway. PICTURES!

Here is the lovely amazing bottle. It's a periwinkle blue base with stupid awesome shimmer in it. It also has delicate and subtle blue flakies and more KAPOW silver flakies. I'm also 99.9% sure that there were even some little holographic glitters in there. Finally - just in case I wasn't already a blue-polish "collector" and mildly obsessed with literary topics..... THERE IS ALSO MICROGLITTER. That's right- superdarkblue (i.e. "midnight") and urhglsmentis (i.e. "periwinkle") microglitters. 

And here is is from the bottom now. And finally - a nail! This is three coats of polish - I applied it late Sunday and wanted to ensure I had zip/zero/nada VNL. I should also mention that this polish applied like slightly warm Nutella - i.e. fantastic and hunger inducing. I wanted to put it on EVERYTHING. Did I mention I applied it with a fan on (BUBBLES) and I didn't even get any of them? WHAT?! MAGIC! 

All of the nails! I'd like to make you all aware that after THREE FULL DAYS I had tip wear (at pictured) only mildly on my pointer finger. (I did wrap my tips, but I tend to bash them off after about 12 hours). I used Poshe as a top coat, and I only used one coat of that stuff.

This polish is worth all of the lemm I ever ing-ed. It's an LE and the last of it sold on Llarowe a couple weeks  ago. Just in case you want to buy other things, here is the link to Llarowe. I'd also like to say that this is my first Scofflaw, and I absolutely intend to spend stupid amounts of money whenever there is a restock... like this Sunday. I learned about this restock via Facebook. GO FORTH AND LIKE IT! And the restock is on Etsy - so this is also important. What's on my list? David Bowie's Bulge, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Flotsam &  Jetsam, Love Letter to Bea Arthur, and who knows what I'll even want from her new collection!
