Kunimitsu Nail Potions Seal Point Siamese

After the barrage of nail mail that arrived, I have been dying to wear all of the colors ever. Here is another of the Kunimitsu Nail Potions that I bought during her free shipping sale (it's still going on, too!) This is Seal Point Siamese. I'm a little biased towards cat-themed polishes because of my supreme cat-lady repertoire. I'm drawn to this polish because of the history of phenomenal crelly-formula goodness and the fantastic mix of microglitters. Onward to photos!

Seal Point Siamese is a mixture of extra tiny turquoise holographic blue glitters, and different sizes of midnight blue matte glitters. It's ultra classy, and the formula was drool-worthy. I used three coats to opacity, but I probably could have stopped at two. This polish was extra easy to control - I had zero problems with it whatsoever.

My poor pinkie is still rebelling - ignore him.

Fantastic glitter coverage - I could just spread it right on there. It was self-leveling too! And opaque without being a THHIIIIICK layer of polish. Did I mention I love this formula?

Here is a close up! Notice how there isn't even any bubbling! And the distribution of the glitter!

And like all white crellies, I have to matte them. And this guy is NO exception to the gorgeousity of matted white crellies with microglitters. Seriously, this polish is going to be my go-to for any time that I wear blue. It can go with ANYTHING! And the white is actually WHITE - cool toned for pale people like ME!

Anyway, you can buy Seal Point Siamese and other awesome polishes on Etsy for $8 a pop. She also has MINIS!!!!! for $4. As always, this is a public service announcement to follow Kunimitsu Nail Potions on Facebook.

Kunimitsu Nail Potions Lucky Goldfish

If there is one thing that I can appreciate above all others when purchasing from an indie maker, it is phenomenal formula. Seriously - it can be as sexy as Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a tailored suit, but if the formula sucks I'm not going to deal with it. Kunimitsu Nail Potions has so far had formula so good that I'm always making odd noises and muttering about buttery goodness. This polish of hers is no exception! Lucky Goldfish is a hurr-iffic cerulean blue jelly with tiny orange hexes and orange microfine glitters. It reminds me of the goldfish that my sister got from a pet store and how it seriously lived longer than it probably should have. Defied all laws of nature, that fish.

This is two coats of Lucky Goldfish. I already mentioned the glorious glorious 3-free formula. It took two thicker coats to obliterate my VNL, as is the glory of a jelly formula. If I used thinner coats, I'd probably need three. It's not lumpy and it only needs one layer of top coat. Also - look how awesomely distributed that glitter is on my nail. Awesome. AWESOME.

I had some slight bubbling, which I'm mildly obsessive about. It's totally fine, and it's probably because I got them out of the mail and immediately went to shaking and examining the bottles. And then the true ruler of the house played with them. Here is a pretty shot of the formula.

Please forgive my stupid pinkie nail. He's stupid. I'm also not sure if he used to be a she. I don't really care about the gender of my pinkie nail, it drives me nuts regardless.

And time to get my matte on.

As usual, this is totally awesome. It's gorgeous and deep and like looking into a pond full of fish. But only orange fish and there are a lot of them.

As usual, a thumb shot.

And this is Ecco. The true ruler of the apartment.

Okay people, this is the end. If you're looking to get to the Kunimitsu Nail Potions Etsy shop, that was the link you needed to click. She also has a Facebook that you should go like, because she has some awesome stuff up there too. PLEASE TAKE MORE OF MY MONEY.

What do you guys think of microglitter jellies? Awesome? Or are you a chunky-glitter-a-holic?

Jindie Nails Live Out Loud

Hi awesome people! I hear Google Reader is going away, but I'm not super techy - maybe there is some way to use bloglovin' or something of the sort. I recommend following on Facebook. I put collages on there. Either way - this brings me to TODAY! I have something awesome! It's another crelly! Because I love them! It's Jindie Nails Live Out Loud. It was the other Jindie Nails lemming I got a couple months ago that I finally got around to using. It's a lovely creamy milky white with turquoise, magenta, and green circle glitters. There is also a horde of tiny glitters singing an overwhelming back up number. Ready for pictures?

This is two coats of Live Out Loud. I'm surprised it only took two coats to get opacity - I have pretty prominent VNL! The consistency of the polish was a little bit thin, but I'd prefer it thinner to thick so I don't have to struggle with thinner. It didn't really matter anyway, because the circles were nice and suspended. I didn't have to struggle to get them on the nail and they didn't clump and were easy to spread to where I wanted them.

Here is a awesome close up. It's like cupcake frosting on my nails.

So then logically my next step is to put some matte top coat on, because jellies and crellies must be matted on principle alone. It also helps when they end up looking as awesome as this one.

Sooooooo soft. Like buttercream icing with sprinkles!

Woooo! So pretty. Beyond cupcakes, sprinkles, sugar, and other things I love that look like this, what are y'alls thoughts?

I bought this lovely lady for my own personal use from the JindieNails website but they are also available at Llarowe and other authorized dealers.

I also highly recommend that you like her on Facebook!

Emerald & Ash Swarley Snot

Whew! It's been such a crazy few weeks since I got my Emerald & Ash order! Somedays I feel like Jon Snow (I KNOW NOTHING) and the other few I feel like Chekov (that's right, I enjoy Star Trek). Either way - all work/job/life/obligations/feed the cat aside, I have finally gotten around to showing you one of my new favorite things: Emerald & Ash Swarley Snot. I have a mild obsession with microglitter, especially ones that are bright and fantastic and versatile. Swarley Snot is essentially all that I love from microglitter - the matte neons and the sparklies and a clear base for easy layering. Also it is named after her doggy. Another thing I love.

Here is an awesome bottle shot. It's about a kajillion baby glitters in a clear base. It's got some awesome bright greens (necessary for boogers) and corals and blues and holos and iridescent bits and white and burgundy and I really can't count any more. It's one of the best and most versatile mixes. I had a hard time picking undies. In the end, I used Butter London Cream Tea. It's really pretty, but the formula was a bit runny to me. Moving along now to the important topic of the night - the actual polish. I used two coats of Swarley Snot to get some awesome glitter payout. I could have stopped after one, but really - MOOOOOOAAAAR GLITTERRRRSSSSSSS.

Did I mention it's 3 and cruelty free? Because that's important.

It's like a party on my nails! I SHOULD USE MORE COATS! NO STOP! STOP NOW! Also - janky pinkie has reappeared. The jerk decided to break on me two days ago, to this pitiful measly length. So I had to obliterate the rest of my nails. My poor nubs.

The formula on this polish was amazing - thick and full of glitters without dragging off the temperamental undies I had on. It was pretty dang even without struggle - something I hate about microglitter polishes. I got up to the cuticles and the edges without a naked tip look.

DAMN YOU JANKY PINKY. I should have cropped you out.

There is tons of sparkle in this polish. It is totally perfect for summer accents, or for crazypants excessive glitter manicures.

Emerald & Ash has Swarley Snot for sale on their website as well as their Etsy for an exceptionally reasonable $6.50. It's for a super adorable 11 mL bottle. Of course - it's absolutely necessary to like them on Facebook in order to get awesome updates for new polishes. I know I'm waiting for them. Mmmmm. Polish.

If you guys had a polish named after your pet - what would it be? Mine would probably be Ecco Hair and be various sizes of hair glitter. Then I would spill it all over my couch and carpet, where she sheds everywhere.

Kunimitsu Nail Potions Love is a Kitten

WHEW! PSA readers: I'm now a Master. Great. My family has come and gone and now I can get back to things like polishing my nails nightly. Tonight I have Kunimitsu Nail Potions, which I have added faithfully to my Etsy registry (I'm marrying myself in November 2015. Save the date!) FOREVER. Well, this year I had a kind of amazing birthday and my good indie-a-holic Michelle over at Late Night Lacquer mailed me a birthday package of exceptional oozing awesome. One of the polishes was Love is a Kitten. I am a proud momma to my preciousbabykittylovekins Ecco and I adore all of the polish in the Kunimitsu Nail Potions shop. Especially the cat themed ones. I was super excited to FINALLY get my mitts on one! Ready for some pictures?!

Here is an awesome bottle shot! So - here we have snow white crelly with itty bitty fuchsia hexes, matte black glitters of tiny and super tiny varieties, and OF COURSE itsybitytinywiny holographic glitters. SCORE! Logically, I knew the first thing I needed to do was put on two coats of polish. And I knew I needed to do it in 15 minutes yesterday because I was on my way out the door for that important thing called GRADUATION. I lobbed that stuff on super fast, threw on some Poshe and ran out the door.

It's almost been 48 hours since then! And I finally got around to getting pictures. Yes yes, shame on me. Needless to say, the formula was pretty dang awesome. For only two coats I didn't have any real balding or thin spots. I probably should have used three for opacity's sake, but a lady's got to walk across a stage and shake hands with some person called "The Dean." But check out that glitter variety! And ease of glitter placement! It just flowed right on the nail. Fantastic formula. Mmph. Oh - I should also mention that it's 3-free.

Here we go. Looking nice now! GAH. Except for Janky Pinkie. Oh lawdy - what are you DOING?! We'll tuck you away now.

One more for good measure. Also - after a whole 48 hours which included being paraded around the boiling heat of Texas while dressed in 27 recycled plastic bottles (really) made into a black Masters robe and full regalia while clutching a mortar board to my head in gusty winds..... and a night of opening gifts and writing thank you notes.... the wear is pretty good for a polish peeler like me.

.
And of course, it's not a party with out a matte top coat Digital Nails Mattematical. While it's not all OOOHHH GURGLY GURGLY DEPTH, I think that mattefying this lady gives it a really nice, soft, sweet touch. Like kitties. What kitties are super shiny, any way?

Oh look! The end of the post. What do you guys need to know now? That there is an awesome Etsy shop where Kunimitsu Nail Potions sells pretty phenomenal lacquers? That she also has a Facebook that you should go like immediately? Those are both fantastic ideas! Lets do them!

Here is a bonus picture of  my precious kitty sitting in the window. She's a dilute calico and some sort of Siamese mix.

A Mild Coral Obsession: OPI Jinx vs Zoya Destiny with guest star Digital Nails Super Temp

Some of you may be aware that I have a mild coral obsession. It recently came to light after I realized I needed to stop buying so many damn purples and get something for summer. I had the extreme good fortune to come across OPI Jinx at a nail supply place for DAMN CHEAP. Purchased. I also have a textured polish obsession. Zoya Destiny was a wonderful pressie from a fellow graduate student with a polish obsession and soon - will be soulless. No no no, she's a wonderful girl, it's just what graduate school does to a person. Finally, I bought Super Temp from Digital Nails. Because I love coral. Anyway, I realized one day while loading my nail polish into a lovely traveling ham container of mine that Destiny and Jinx were remarkably similar..... and Super Temp looked just as amazing but sans-texture. And then I decided to compare all three. PICTURES ARE IMMINENT!

Pretty awful bottle shot. Sorry guys. Stupid lighting. BUT YEAH they all look pretty close? Coral base with goldy-yellow sparkly bits?

BAM! There they are. Super Temp on the pointer, OPI Jinx on the middle, and Zoya Destiny on the ring. They look pretty close to each other. Here are the noticeable differences:

1) Super Temp is not textured. Fantastic alternative for those who are against the textured polish thing
2) Destiny appears to have a slightly. SLIGHTLY. HARDLY NOTICABLE. Pinker base.
3) OPI Jinx has slightly smaller glittery bits and is a finer-grit sandpaper finish. Zoya Destiny is definitely larger grit and rougher.

And another comparison swatch. TA DA!

Here is another one. With LABELS! (oh my, so fancy!)

I really wish I could capture the shimmery color shifty bits of Super Temp better. GAH! SO SHIMMERY!

Well - here we go.

Whoops. Forgot to mention important things like formula and application and stuff. What you see is two coats of each and a well - cropped out janky pinkie. All of them dried in reasonable time (Super Temp got Poshe-d) and I totally neglected to put on a base coat. All of them were lovely and sparkly and pretty. And even though OPI Jinx and Zoya Destiny are remarkably similar, I won't be getting rid of either because I think the textures are different enough to warrant keepsies.

Anyway, if you want to buy them I've heard OPI Jinx is at Ulta for $9 a pop and Zoya Destiny is available on their website for also $9.

As always, you can find Digital Nails Super Temp on her Etsy! Also, it's based on Donna Noble, who I adore.

Jindie Nails Princess Bubblegum (bonus of my cat licking tulle)

Let us all flashback to February. I was attempting a no-buy, as was a good friend. My friend and I had recently become obsessed with microglitter and it was getting to be a bit excessive. She showed me the wonder of Jindie Nails Princess Bubblegum. And I was thrilled. Lavender crelly? Eeensie matte neon glitters? HELLO LOVE OF MY LIFE. Alas, we noticed that Jindie Nails was going to restock, and soon. Cue the tears. We watched all of the lovely microglitters sell out. We kissed our lemmings goodbye. It really was tragic. And so we waited. We waited for our no-buys to end, and once we did, we realized we had to wait for a re-stock. We stalked and browsed and sent swatches to each other, and then, one day - magic occurred. The fated day of the restock. And then - we shopped. I bring to you, my Jindie Nails lemming #1: Princess Bubblegum

Oh my goodness. Look at those little teensie tiny baby glitters. And the neon! It's like everything I ever loved  is on my thumb. I was actually really happy when I put it on - I hadn't noticed that there were iridescent glitters too! HOLY COW! And the formula was an absolute dream. This is three coats, because I have a super noticeable VNL with everything and I have terrible one-bedroom apartment lighting. MOVING ALONG NOW.

All of the nails. Janky-pinkie, doin' it in style.

And what do I need to do next? MATTE HER. She begged me for it, with her baby glitters.

Starring: Janky-Pinkie and my really awesome fossil.

One more for good measure.

Ooooh janky-pinkie. What have I ever done to you. Oh, that's right. Slammed you in numerous car doors. So sorry.

So, that's it, lovely readers! Jindie Nails Princess Bubblegum was well worth the two months of tears and screaming at my laptop. I'm passionate, what else is there to say. I'm wearing three coats of it and I used Butter London Matte top coat. Really does a nice job there. Highlights of this polish was the pure amazingness of the matte/transparent neon baby glitters, as well as the surprise iridescent hexes and squares.

I bought this lovely lady for my own personal use from the JindieNails website but they are also available at Llarowe and other authorized dealers.

BONUS: Here is a video of my cat licking tulle.
